Relax NaturallyWellness in Bad Dürrheim

Excuse me? There should be nothing to talk about after a spa trip? Not at all. In Bad Dürrheim, the opposite is true. If you want to feel good in every pore, you should come here. The personal wellness experience feels better when you know the stories behind the salt, the sauna, and the spa. Here in Bad Dürrheim you can send your body and soul on a voyage of discovery. If body and soul feel like it. The most important motto has always been: everything is possible, nothing is mandatory.
For example, you could take a long walk through the beautiful Baar. In this case, please write Baar with a double A. This is the name of the gentle landscape between the Black Forest and the Swabian Alb. Baar with a single A will come later. Maybe. As I said: everything can, nothing must. Let's go for a walk first. We could take some great pictures of the Baar landscape. We could even post them on Instagram and Pinterest. But not now, maybe later. That's not why we came here. Cell phones and everything associated with them deserve a longer break. And so do we. Wellness and digital detox go hand in hand. Less is more. Maybe we'll post something at the end of the week. First, the salt cave. This is what our meeting rooms look like now. Take a deep breath - beautiful!

The grotto visit lasts 45 minutes. To keep the atmosphere calm, we arrived at the Solemar Spa on time. Now we lie in the salt air. Take a deep breath. The air in the Dead Sea Salt Grotto is enriched with brine. This is said to have a soothing effect on respiratory diseases such as asthma or bronchitis. Salt and tranquility clear the airways. And a few good thoughts too. We are in the grotto with 10 other guests and 9,500 naturally pure salt bricks. Dead Sea salt is highly soluble. The air is filled with negative ions. It doesn't matter how it works. The main thing is that it's good for you.

What we inhale are, so to speak, the historical roots of Bad Dürrheim. Without salt, this would be an ordinary village. The salt was discovered underground in 1822. The brine has been used for bathing cures for more than a hundred years. Today, Bad Dürrheim is the highest saline spa in Germany. Please do not confuse it with Bad Dürkheim. This is also said to be a beautiful brine spa, but it is outside our area of responsibility. Mnemonic: Bad Dürrheim with a double R is located in the Baar Region with a double A. Of course, you have to admit that the 733 meters above sea level play a minor role in the feeling of well-being. Unlike the seven saunas at Solemar Spa. One for each day of the week.

The Solemar Spa now has seven elegant saunas: Meditation sauna, Zirbelstube, Backstube, Müllerstube, Stollensauna, Mühlradsauna and Birkensauna. The themed saunas cover everything: from large to small. From 55 to 90 degrees Celsius. Of course, the infusions in the tunnel sauna are dedicated to salt mining. Outside, there is an impressive graduation tower. This is where the fine salt used to be produced. To perfect the change between hot and cold, you can go to the steam bath and the ice grotto, the outdoor pool or the village fountain. As I said: everything is possible, nothing is mandatory. After all, lying on your lazy skin is also part of the wellness program. But you have to admit that science is right when it says that a little activity promotes relaxation. You feel it in every pore. It feels sooooo good.

That's why we walk the barefoot path several times. Walking barefoot is the current trend. We can understand that. The path in Bad Dürrheim is considered to be a particularly beautiful walk among barefoot connoisseurs. There are no two opinions about the pleasant round stones. It feels great when the soft weight of the stones massages the soles of your feet. Those who enjoy the feeling of the mulch soaking through their toes are considered special barefoot connoisseurs. The path also passes the graduation tower. Tomorrow we'll find out how the salt enrichment works. We still have one last appointment tonight. And we will be on time. After all, we want to enjoy each course in detail.

Two final thoughts before the waitress brings the amuse-gueule. First, there's no posting today. And probably not tomorrow, either. What's the point? Second: Bad Dürrheim is unique, but you should also consider the other saltwater spas in Württemberg and Baden — Stuttgart, Bad Rappenau, Bad Wimpfen, Bad Mergentheim and Bad Schönborn. We just wanted to mention them. That's all we need to do for the sake of wellness.
